United Way Caregivers Coalition has teamed with Atlantic Health Systems to provide a morning all about caregiver health. There will be information and tools to help caregivers care for their own physical and emotional health, health screenings, resources, and a free healthy breakfast.

Senior Resource Center Receives GlaxoSmithKline Health Award!

The Senior Resource Center was recently a recipient of the GlaxoSmithKline Healthcare Health Awards.

The GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Health Awards recognize excellence on the part of non-profit organizations involved with mental, emotional or physical healthcare issues.

GlaxoSmithKline’s global quest is to improve the quality of human life by enabling people to do more, feel better and live longer.

145_RAV9241SRC Board President, the Rev. Margaret Otterburn received the award along with Board Treasurer and SRC participant, Claire Pompeii and Jim Hackett, SRC Executive Director.

Proceeds from this award will go towards the healthy activity programs that are available for all seniors at the Senior Resource Center.

Caregiver Support Group

Meeting the 2nd Wednesday of the month at the Chester Library. Join other caregivers in a nonjudgmental atmosphere and caring environment to share experiences, reduce stress, learn about resources and take time for yourself.


Lunch N’ Learn Educational Workshops

Lectures are offered on a variety of topics related to issues of aging and care giving 3 times monthly.
Admission is FREE and lunch is provided.

First Monday of the month at the Chester Library (RSVP at 908-879-4364)

Fourth Monday of the Month at the Washington Twp[. Library (RSVP at 908-876-3596)

Second Tuesday of the Month at the Mountaintop Church in Hackettstown (RSVP at 908-879-2202)

“Health Ease” – “Move Today” Exercise Class

Move Today is a 30-45 minute non-aerobic exercise class designed to improve
flexibility, balance and stamina using stretch bands.
Class meets every
Monday at 9:30 AM and Thursday at 3 PM.



“Health Ease” – “Healthy Bones” Exercise Class

This class is offered in support of osteoporosis prevention which has
an education component as well as exercise.
Class meets every
Monday and Tuesday from 9:30 – 11:00 AM


Senior Community Center

(located inside the Church of the Messiah)

Regular activities are offered every Tuesday and Thursday from 1pm-4pm. Programs include dance, yoga, stretch band, tai chi, gardening, cooking, arts/crafts, and much, much more! Other senior related informational workshops are held throughout the year.
